Gov. Whitmers COVID orders no longer in effect On October 2nd, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled against a 1945 law, stating that Governor Whitmers use of the law to implement executive orders was unconstitutional. Three days later Governor Whitmer made a request for a transition period following the courts decision to implement COVID-19 procedures and recently, that request was denied. Since the Supreme Court ruling, CoVID-19 cases have risen in Michigan, with more than 1,000 people now being hospitalized and the states testing positivity rate moving above 3%.
